First fatality in 2015 Presidential Election reported from Kahawatta

A person who was injured in the shooting which took place in Kahawatta on January 5^th while setting up a stage for the NDF candidate just succumbed to his injuries at the Ratnapura Hospital. He was one of the three injured when a group of assailants opened fire at a group of persons decorating a stage in Kahawatta around 1.00 am. The victim is a resident of Welandura.

Two others remain in hospital.
