A special meeting was arranged by the Deputy Inspector General of Police Nuwara - Eliya with the participation of the SSP, ASP, & eight Officers in charge in the Nuwara Eliya District in order to safe guard a Free & Fair Election and also how to Mitigate factors which could undermine a peaceful environment during the election period.
The meeting was conducted with the patronage of the Assistant Election Commissioner Nuwara - Eliya Mr. H.A.S. Fernando and PAFFREL Executive Director Mr. Rohana Hettiarachchi & National Co - ordinator Mr. Sujeewa Gayanath represented PAFFREL in the meeting.
It was unanimously decided to take strict legal actions against anyone who violates law irrespective of the political party which she or he represents.
